Geodesy and Geoinformation Science

Geodesy is a diversified engineering discipline, strongly characterized by mathematics and natural sciences. It deals with the acquisition, modelling and processing of spatial data. The analysis, organization and visualization of geodata forms a fundamental base for the interpretation and design of the environment. Current geodetic research has a broad thematic scope and ranges from microscopic applications in medical sciences to contributions to vehicle navigation, ecological monitoring and even to planning of space missions for the exploration and mapping of other planets.

The international, two-year master’s program is guided by this scientific focus. Students learn how to develop and utilize methods of engineering and satellite geodesy, planetary and Earth system research, computer vision as well as 3D/4D-modelling of the environment using Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

General Information on Available Courses of Study

The Regulations Governing General Study and Examination Procedures (AllgStuPO) at TU Berlin govern the organization and implementation of studies and examinations for all degree courses at Technische Universität Berlin.

The Selection Statutes (Auswahlsatzung) govern the admission requirements and selection procedures for all degree courses at Technische Universität Berlin.

The applicable version of both documents can be found in the download area.

You can find an overview of generally accepted certificates of language skills on the webpages of the Office of Student Affairs.

The subject-specific regulations can be found in the individual Study and Examination Regulations (StuPO) or Regulations for Admission and Selection (ZZO) of each degree course.
