M.Sc. Environmental Planning

The international master's program Environmental Planning starts in winter semester and is a restricted program with admission offered for 20 students per year.

Undergraduate degree

To apply for the Environmental Planning program, an undergraduate degree in specific programs is recommended.

Academic transcript

Submitting an academic transcript showing subjects, grades and credits with your application is mandatory. If you are not graduating in the EU, please convert your credits into ECTS: 1 ECTS point equals a 25-30-hour workload. Your professor / examination office should be able to verify this.

If you have any questions about this transformation, please contact Mr Marock:

90 ECTS have to be completed at the point of your application in at least three of the following areas:

  • Environmental / Landscape Planning
  • Environmental Assessment (Strategic Environmental Assessment, Environmental Impact Assessment, Habitat-Regulation-Assessment, Impact Mitigation)
  • other Spatial Planning, as e.g. spatial, urban, regional planning, traffic planning, landscape architecture
  • Nature Conservation
  • Ecology
  • GIS and Remote Sensing
  • Environmental Economics / Sociology
  • Environmental Policy

Up to 30 ECTS of the required 90 ECTS may be replaced by relevant work experience gained after having completed a study program in the listed areas.

 

Language proficiency

English language proficiency at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) is required, but level C1 is highly recommended!
